Hello
"These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: you are not alone." -Roald Dahl
For young Morgan, the library meant books. Like Matilda, the stories in the pages of the books in the library taught me to value the experiences of others-- that in my childlike imagination I had friends who trained dragons and travelled through time in magic treehouses.
In my education, I learned that libraries are less about books, but more about people. Libraries still offer books, sure, but libraries also offer services, programs, and resources that meet critical needs of their communities. It is our role in our profession to ensure our patrons know that they are never alone.
